The Teaching Care Centre of Pendine Park Care Homes, Smartcare were proud finalists in the Social Care Accolades 2005. The award ceremony was held at Cardiff City Hall attended by the Smartcare Team.

Smartcare is an integral part of the Hillbury Teaching Care Centre and was formed to deliver innovative training courses for care providers and other businesses. Courses include HSE approved First Aid at Work, the Moving & Handling Passport and health and safety, care, management and staff development programmes. The Centre is approved by City & Guilds, Health & Safety Executive and the Institute of Leadership and Management.
The Smartcare concept introduces innovation into training that is rooted in practice and provides excellent value and learning opportunities. Understanding the constraints many care providers and small business have, Smartcare offers flexibility and choice. Delegates are able to attend courses held at the Smartcare Centre at Hillbury, or courses can be held in the workplace at convenient times.
